A Few Words About Us…

If you’re here, we’re assuming you want to hear us talk about us for a few moments, so, here you go: Elucidate Inc was formed in July of 2011 by Chris and Sherry Griffin after they sold Digital Sports Video Inc (DSV), a company they co-owned with 2 others.  DSV wrote and sold software for sport teams, primarily high school football teams but they also counted colleges as well as basketball and lacrosse teams as their customers.  DSV was very successful with yearly revenues of over $5M multiple years in a row.

Elucidate has a very different focus than DSV.  While DSV was about making coaches lives easier, Elucidate is about making the lives of other business owners easier.  We write customized software, SmartPhone applications, and provide business consulting as well.  Chris and Sherry don’t believe in reinventing the wheel just for the sake of reinventing it and strive to take the many business lessons they have learned over the years and guide new businesses around them.

While at DSV, Sherry developed a passion for HR (yes, she admits it’s not normal).  She started practicing HR in 2006 and received her SPHR certification in 2008.  She is particularly interested in helping businesses navigate the messy area of worker classification: employee vs contractor.  This is going to be a big issue facing businesses over the next several years and most businesses are completely unprepared.

Chris has been programming since he was in 2nd grade and graduated from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 1992 (he was one of those who know what he wanted to do when he grew up and then did it).  His resume is impressive but what makes him really excellent at what he does is he gets the business purpose behind what he develops and understands English (as opposed to him just speaking programmer).

Christina has kept Chris and Sherry sane for 5 years now.  She keeps everything organized and keeps Sherry on task (trust me – much easier than it sounds).

At the end of the day, we do what we enjoy and enjoy what we do.  We constantly strive to get better and stay on top of our fields.  If you are in need of what we do, we’ll be the expert so that you can get back to what you enjoy doing.  Blah, blah, blah…
